Sakai

Sakai is our former primary learning management system. It will be replaced by Canvas for Fall 2022. Sakai content will remain accessible to instructors for the next academic year. Any questions pertaining to Sakai (or Canvas) should be directed to the Educational Technologies group in Information Technology.

Saints Portal (SLU Portal)

The Saints Portal is where employees enter their time, check their benefits, and access their W2s, as well as other administrative information.

Faculty go here to enter mid-term and final grades, access class rosters and provide search by sections for course availability.

Students see grades, review and accept financial aid and scholarships, can review course catalog, access your 1098-T, or submit transcript requests.

Remote Desktop and Remote Apps

The Remote Desktop and Remote Apps allow for SLU users to access lab computers or applications used in class online from a browser, or from the Microsoft Remote App. The Remote Desktop acts as a Windows 10 lab computer viewed from your device, and can perform all of the same functions as a lab computer on campus. Remote Apps are the desktop version of a program, allowing you to use the full capability of the program from your browser or smart device.

Canvas

Canvas is our new Learning Management System (LMS). It provides tools and features leveraged by instructors for teaching at SLU. Educational Technologies provides instruction and training for faculty who are using this application.
