Call Forwarding (NEC and Polycom Phones)

Overview

There are two types of phones provided:

  • NEC
  • Polycom

A user should check which type they have before moving to the next step.

A user should also pay attention the desired Call-Forwarding method.

NEC Phone Call Forwarding

Forward Incoming Calls to VOICEMAIL (No Answer)

  • Dial *3, listen for three beeps
  • Dial 5050, listen for three beeps
  • Hang up
  • To cancel forwarding, dial #3, listen for three beeps and then hang up

Forward Incoming Calls to ON-CAMPUS Number (No Answer)

  • Cancel voicemail forwarding first (Step 4 above)
  • Dial *3, listen for three beeps
  • Dial the four digit extension desired to forward the call to
  • Hang up
  • To cancel forwarding, dial #3, listen for three beeps and then hang up

Forward Incoming Calls to VOICEMAIL (Line is Busy)

  • Dial *2, listen for three beeps
  • Dial 5050, listen for three beeps
  • Hang up
  • To cancel forwarding, dial #2, listen for three beeps and then hang up

Forward All Incoming Calls to Either ON-CAMPUS Number or VOICEMAIL

  • Dial *1, listen for three beeps
  • Dial 5050 for voicemail, or dial four digit extension for on-campus
  • Listen for three beeps and then hang up

Polycom Phone Call Forwarding

Forward Incoming Calls to VOICEMAIL

  • Press the Menu button
  • Select Call Forwarding
  • Press Forward to Voicemail
  • Press OK

Forward Incoming Calls to a Different Number

  • Press the Menu button
  • Select Call Forwarding
  • Press Forward to a contact or any phone number
  • Enter the desired four digit extension for on-campus forwarding, or ten digit number for off-campus forwarding

Forward Incoming Calls to User's Personal Cell Phone Number

There are two ways to do this:

  1. Follow the method above by entering user's personal cell phone number in step 4
  2. Through the Polycom client (Skype for Business)

Skype for Business Polycom Client:

  • User should open Skype for Business on their computer
  • Click Options
  • Click Phones
  • Click on Mobile Phone and enter the ten digits for user's cell phone number
  • Click OK
  • Check the box Include in my contact card
  • Click OK
  • Now, press the Menu button on the Polycom phone
  • Press Call Forwarding
  • Press Forward to one of my numbers
  • Select user's cell phone number
  • Press OK
