JAMF Pro Self Service Tutorial


JAMF Pro Self Service is available on St. Lawrence University owned Mac devices. JAMF Pro Self Service can be used to install new software which the university owns and is licensed to distribute on campus. A helpful analogy is to think of Self Service as St. Lawrence University's version of the Apple App Store.


  • Open the Self Service application, which is located in the Applications Folder
    • Additionally, you can use Spotlight Search, accessible from either the Magnifying Glass Icon in the top right corner of the screen or by pressing Command (⌘) + Space, and typing Self Service
  • In the Self Service app, you can search for an application or browse through the available software
  • Choose the application you wish to install (e.g. iMovie) and click Install 
  • Watch the progress bar to ensure the application is installed before putting your computer to sleep, restarting, or shutting it down  
    • Note: Depending on the size of the application, you will need to wait 1-5 minutes to ensure the application fully installed
