Right Click on the Desktop and select “Display Settings”
Under the “Multiple Displays” section, click the drop down menu and select which setting you desire.
“Duplicate these displays” will make the picture the same on both screens.
“Extend these displays” allows you to put separate windows on each screen.
The “Show only on” options will leave only one screen turned on while leaving the other blank.
When asked if you would like to keep the display settings, close “Keep changes”
Configuring Extended Displays
If you chose “Extend these displays” in the drop down menu, scroll back up to the “Select and rearrange displays” section and click “Identify”.
Make note of which screen is labeled with which number.
Click and drag on the numbered rectangles in the gray box so that they are lined up in the same way as your monitors are on your desk.
Click “Apply”
If you would like to see your desktop icons on a different display, click on your preferred screen in the gray box, then scroll down to the “Multiple Displays” section and check the box next to “Make this my main display”
