Connect Chromecast

1. Retrieve your Chromecast name and MAC Address

  • Your Chromecast name (e.g. Chromecast6654) and MAC Address (e.g. 2A:3B:C4:55:E6:77) will appear when choosing a network for your Chromecast from the Chromecast app. You can change this name if you like. You'll need the name and MAC address when you add the Chromecast to ClearPass. Do not attempt to connect the Chromecast to a wireless network at this step.

2. Add your Chromecast to ClearPass

  1. Log in to https://clearpass.stlawu.edu with your St. Lawrence network username and password.
  2. Select Create Device
  3. Device Name: use the name you gave your Chromecast in step 1.
  4. MAC Address: enter the MAC address you recorded from step 1.
  5. Airgroup: Enable
  6. Shared With: enter your network username and the username(s) of anyone else you wish to allow access to stream via your Chromecast.
  7. Select Create Device

3. Connect to the wireless network, slu-devices

The ClearPass registration process may take up to 2 hours. When registration is complete, the Chromecast will be available from supported devices.
