Please note these steps only work using a Windows computer and the Outlook Desktop App. If you are using “New Outlook” you will need to revert to legacy Outlook first.

  1. Open the Outlook app on your computer and make sure you are signed into your St. Lawrence University email account.

  1. Export your Outlook emails to a .pst file and save it on your hard drive.
    1. Go to File > Open & Export > Import/Export > Export to a file.

  1. Save the file.

  1. Please make a note of where you save your Outlook Data File (see below). You can click “Browse” to change the location.

  1. Go to your Gmail account in a browser and enable IMAP. (Please note starting in June 2024, this step can be skipped as this setting will be automatic.)

  1. Click the settings gear icon in the upper right corner of your screen.
  2. Then click “See all settings.”
  3. Then click the “Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab”
  4. Scroll down to “IMAP access” and select Enable IMAP

  1. Add your Gmail account to the Outlook desktop app

  1. Go to File > Info > Add account.
  2. Sign in with Gmail account.

  1. Import Outlook emails to Gmail.
