How to run a data backup with the User State Migration Tool

1. From the Start Menu, open “Software Center”.
2. Once the program loads, click on the “Operating Systems” tab.
3. Click on “USMT Capture User State”, then click “Install”.
4. Click on the “Install” button in the box that pops up.
5. A loading bar will appear, and will quickly close, followed by another loading bar. Once this happens, the computer is in the backup process. This process will run for a while. The User should save any documents on this computer now to network locations or cloud storage until the receive their new computer.
