(NEW) How to Add People to the Blocked Senders List

Information

The Outlook Junk Email filter allows you to automatically redirect messages from specified accounts into your Junk mail folder so they do not clutter up your inbox. The Junk Email List is the list of email addresses that Outlook will filter for you automatically. You can add additional names to this list by following the instructions below.

Instructions

Click on one of the choices below to view the contents.

New Outlook for Windows
  1. ​​​​​​Click the settings icon in the top right.
  2. Click Mail.
  3. Click Junk Mail.
  4. Under "Blocked senders and domains" click + Add.
  5. Type in the email address you want to add to the list.
  6. Click Save.
Legacy Outlook for Windows 
  1. Click the More Options button (the button with three dots at the top right of the screen).
  2. Under "Move and Delete", click Junk.
  3. Click Junk Email Options.
  4. Click the Blocked Senders tab.
  5. Click Add...
  6. Type in the email address you want to add to the list.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Click OK.
Outlook for Mac
  1. In the toolbar on the top of the screen, click Tools.
  2. Click Junk Email Preferences.
  3. At the bottom of the list, click on the text that reads "Example: abc123@fourthcoffee.com..." to highlight it. Then click it again to enter text.
  4. Type in the email address you want to add to the list. 
  5. Click the + button.
Web Mail
  1. On the top right of the screen, click the Settings button (the button that looks like a cog).
  2. In the second tab in the box that appears, click the Junk email button. 
  3. Under "Blocked senders and domains", click + Add.
  4. Type in the email address you want to add to the list.
  5. Press the Enter key on your keyboard.
  6. Click Save.
