Using McGraw Hill Connect with Canvas

You will need to have a McGraw-Hill Connect account before you can integrate it with Canvas.  If you need assistance setting up that account, contact McGraw-Hill Support

To pair your McGraw-Hill Connect course to your Canvas course, you must first on the Modules page, click the vertical ellipses at the right end of a Module title bar and choose M-H Connect then "Begin" to pair your course.

Note: this will likely create an unpublished Module Item called "McGraw-Hill Connect."  This item is generated in error and you will want to remove it.  It you click into that item, you will receive an error message.  You may find that over time that that item is regenerated.  If so, you will want to again remove it,  McGraw-Hill is aware of this issue and it will hopefully be addressed soon

Past integrations of the McGraw-Hill integration included a link in the course navigation.  This integration does not allow for that course navigation link.  Note that McGraw-Hill is considering adding that functionality in the future.  Further note that if you create such a link, it will bypass SLU's Single-Sign-On requiring students to create a McGraw-Hill account and that should be avoided.

All McGraw-Hill Connect content (either textbook readings or other assignments) will be added to Canvas as an Assignment:

  • Within a Canvas Module, click the vertical ellipses at the right end of a Module title bar and follow the link to your course
  • After you have created Connect Assignment or Assignments, in the Assignments list, check the box(es) next to the Assignment(s) you wish to Deploy to Canvas, then click the Bulk Deployment (stack of paper) icon, and choose Deploy/Manage
  • The McGraw-Hill Connect Assignments will be deployed to the Assignments tool in your Canvas course
  • Integrate those assignments in your Canvas course site as a Module Item, a link on a Page, etc
