Internet Service Providers - Access for remote work

Overview

In response to social distancing measures taken by institutions and government authorities, many Internet service providers are making additional services available to their customers and students without high speed Internet. 

  • If you already have high speed Internet, we recommend that you contact your service provider to see what they are doing to support remote work.
  • If you do not have high speed Internet, we recommend that you contact a local provider to inquire about installation discounts and free services to higher-education faculty, staff and students.

What to Ask About

  • Are there increased data limits from cellular providers?
  • Is there an offer of increased speed from cable providers?
  • Are they offering any free or discounted service installation for higher-education faculty, staff or students?
