Student Email Changes

Throughout the rest of the summer, Information Technology will be moving all student email accounts to an updated email system.  This page is designed to provide all of the necessary information regarding this change and what to do if you experience any problems.  

If you are a member of the class of 2023, this change does not affect you.

Features of new email system:

  • 1TB of email storage (upgraded from 512 MB)
  • Modern user interface 
  • Better search functionality 
  • Full integration with Microsoft Office 365 applications
  • Integrated with Microsoft Onedrive for easy file sharing and collaboration

Communications from IT:

IT will be sending you an email soon to notify you about this change.  After that, we will send an email every day for one week leading up to the change to inform you of the date your specifc account will be changing and to remind you that it will be happening.  A copy of all of the communications can be found at the bottom of this page so you can be sure that these communications are from us and not phishing messages.

What will you have to do?

If you are accessing your email from your cell phone or a specific program on your computer, you may have to reconfigure that device.  If you are using webmail to access your email, you will simply have to login at the different link provided.  If you try to login to the old web system, it will simply redirect you to the new one.

Greetings from the ODY Service Desk, 

In the coming weeks, IT will begin migrating student email mailboxes to Exchange Online. While the changes to your webmail will require no action on your part, if you have your email configured on a device, you may need to reconnect after your account has been migrated.  Below you will find a website that explains the new web interface and how to reconfigure your device if necessary.  As always, we are happy to help with any questions you have at the ODY Service Desk.  

You will be receiving additional email notifications daily one week prior to your migration from helpdesk@stlawu.edu.  Please note that we will not be moving all students at the same time so you may not receive notifications at the same time as your classmates.

After your mailbox migration is complete, users who log in via our old email system will be directed to access their mailbox via the new Exchange Online web portal URL: (http://outlook.com/owa/stlawu.onmicrosoft.com).

Your email will migrate to exchange online, xx/xx/19.  Please refer to an email we sent you on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 -insert subject that email here. 

To access your St. Lawrence email on your device, you will need to reconfigure your device settings.  You can find all the information you need to navigate this by following the instructions provided in the previous email.
