How to Set Up the Microsoft Remote Desktop App on your Smart Devices

iOS Instructions

  1. From the App Store, download the Remote Desktop Mobile app and open it. 
  2. If prompted to allow the app to connect to Bluetooth, Mic, and Camera, tap Continue, then tap Ok on all three prompts.
  3. On the top right of the screen, tap the button.
  4. Tap Add Workspace.
  5. In the Email or Workspace URL field, enter your SLU email address.
  6. Wait until you see "https://remote.stlawu.edu" appear underneath "Workspace URL", then tap Next.
  7. Enter your SLU email address and password, then tap Next.

Android Instructions

  1. From the Google Play Store, download the Remote Desktop app and open it. 
  2. When asked to accept the terms of service, tap Accept.
  3. On the top right of the screen, tap the button.
  4. Tap Add Workspace.
  5. In the Email or Workspace URL field, enter your SLU email address.
  6. Wait until you see "https://remote.stlawu.edu" appear underneath "Workspace URL", then tap Next.
  7. Enter your SLU email address and password, then tap Next.You should then see a list of different resources from SLU in the Workspaces tab. The first time you open a resource you will be prompted to provide access to Local storage, Microphone, and Clipboard. You can tap the box next to "Never ask again for connections to this PC" if you don't want to be prompted each time you use the resource, then tap Connect.

Additional Information

The resources will be listed under the Workspaces tab in the Remote Desktop app.
