Install Mathematica

Mathematica is available for students to install on their personal computers. Their access will end when they graduate or leave the University. The current version of Mathematica will also be available to students in any of the public computer labs.

Mathematica is available for students to install on their personal computers.  Their access will end when they graduate or leave the University. The current version of Mathematica will also be available to students in any of the public computer labs.

Windows Installation

  • Connect to the N drive
  • Navigate to N:\Menu\SLU Network Menu\Software for Courses\Physics\Mathematica
  • Right click the Mathematica12.1WindowsInstall shortcut and choose Run as Administrator
    • There will be a delay as the program downloads, the Mathematica installer is approximately 3.5 GB
  • When Wolfram Mathematica Setup launches, proceed with default installation settings
  • Click Finish
  • At the activation screen, click the Other Ways to Activate button
  • Click Connect to a Network License Server
  • Type license2.stlawu.local and click Activate
  • Check the box for accepting the license terms and click OK.

Mac OS Installation

  • Connect to the N drive
  • Navigate to N:\Menu\SLU Network Menu\Software for Courses\Physics\Mathematica
  • Double click the Mathematica_12.1.1_MAC.dmg file
  • Drag the Mathematica Icon to the Applications folder to begin the install
  • Once the install has finished, open the Applications folder and launch Mathematica.app
  • At the activation screen, click the Other Ways to Activate
  • Click Connect to a Network License Server
  • Type license2.stlawu.local and click Activate
  • Check the box for accepting the license terms and click OK.
