Access Campus Computers with Microsoft Remote Desktop (Windows)

Instructions for how to connect and use SLU PCs remotely.

PLEASE NOTE: This service is only available to students that have been approved by IT and their professor. 

To create the connection.

  1. Download Microsoft Remote Desktop from the App Store.
  2. On the top of the window, click the +Add button.
  3. Click "Desktop"
  4. For PC name, enter the name of the computer provided by your professor, followed by ".stlawu.local"
    • EXAMPLE: computer1.stlawu.local
  5. For user account, click the button.
  6. For Username, enter "stlawu\" followed by your username.
    • EXAMPLE: stlawu\jdoe
  7. For password, enter your SLU password
  8. Click Save
  9. Display name can be left blank.
  10. Click "Show more"
  11. For Group, select "Saved Desktops"
  12. Click the button next to Gateway.
  13. For Server name, enter "remote.stlawu.edu"
  14. Click Save
  15. Click Save

To connect to the computer:

  1. Double click on the connection you created.
