Access Campus Computers with Microsoft Remote Desktop (Mac)

Instructions for how to connect and use SLU PCs remotely.

PLEASE NOTE: This service is only available to students that have been approved by IT and their professor. 

To create the connection.

  1. Download Microsoft Remote Desktop from the App Store.
  2. On the top of the window, click the button and click Add PC.
  3. For PC name, enter the name of the computer provided by your professor, followed by ".stlawu.local"
    • EXAMPLE: computer1.stlawu.local
  4. For user account, select "Ask when required"
  5. Friendly name can be left blank.
  6. For Group, select "Saved PCs"
  7. For Gateway, click the dropdown menu and select "Add Gateway"
  8. For Gateway Name AND Friendly name, enter "remote.stlawu.edu"
  9. Click Add

To connect to the computer:

  1. Double click on the connection you created.
  2. For Username, enter "stlawu\" followed by your username.
    • EXAMPLE: stlawu\jdoe
  3. For password, enter your SLU password.
  4. Click Continue.
